I want to tell you my own experience of getting married in the most intimate way there is . The Elopement just FOR TWO OF US. I won’t skimp on details here because I’m sure most of you reading are interested in details, so I am here for you. I Want to share our love story in elopement feels, exactly how it start.
I am going to share with you the journey Marcelo and Marcia, Me and Him, took as a couple, my full bride’s moments and my expertise as a wedding planner. I hope you find inspiration and creative ideas here.
Creative souls that we are, opted for a luxe elopement at Saltmarshe Hall, Yorkshire area and the revelled in every refined, elegant detail to make for a luxurious celebration of their love story for just the two of them.
It wasn’t possible to bring our families together, so we decided to design a day just for us, that represented the essence of who we are and our relationship together – before partying with our families at home in Portugal and Brazil.
We are a perfect balance of calm and fire, yin and yang – we love to travel and enjoy exploring art, architecture and nature – and this was brought into every element of our wedding day.
Living in Yorkshire, England but originally from Brazil and Portugal, we curated the perfect day that celebrated our love of English architecture and European design.
With venue illustrations in line art from @maquarelas for a minimalist touch featuring on exquisite stationery collection from @ivyalicestationery included letters that the bride and groom sent to each other on the morning of their wedding. Bringing the flat lay to life with our personal details.
The wedding morning was dreamed and planned. The groom began to dress in his room, the exquisite Howdenshire Suite. A moment created for him, calm without great agitation and sharing. Then I invited him to coming on the bridal suite to close my dress, but we agreed not to look face to face, as we were waiting for the First Look for other emotions. So it was a tense moment, he had never zipped a wedding dress, there are a lot of round buttons, we know that, they were emotions never experienced by both of us… to be honest wearing a wedding dress was nothing new for me, but having my beloved zip my dress , just the two of us, yeah that was new for me.
We encapsulate the emotions of getting ready in a unique way we will never forget!”
After that, he goes alone finishing getting ready in the reserved library, part of the interior of the bridal suite. Time to put on the groom’s tailored tuxedo. Your choice a little more than a classic black tie, with an almost imperceptible subtle floral and personal touch. Marcelo being Marcelo.
I finalised my personal details and vows at Yorkshire bridal suite. The bride is wearing a Jean gown design by Daughters of Simone from Ghost Orchid Bride. It’s 60’s inspired crochet lace long sleeve gown with a deep V neckline. The looks extremely romantic with my stunning dress .
For makeup and hair, my choice was very punctual, for hair a more casual, elegant bohemian and decadence nude makeup and bronze brown eyes, the only special request not to eyeliner, yes, despite bringing a polished makeup look, I don’t have the habit of use, I’m not a fan of my eyes, as they are naturally almond-shaped, and this technique has never flattered me, so I wanted to see myself fully as I am, not reinvent a version of myself for my wedding.
Do you understand the importance of preserving our essence? It is the small details that set us apart. @adelemakeupartist understood and made me feel like myself naturally!
“For the flowers, from @foxflora_ for the intimate wedding day, the brief was to create “calming decadence” in a colour palette that complemented the couples skin tones. We opted for delicate seasonal foliage and calming nude and white florals. The ceremony space was purposed left light, airy and elegant – clear plinths with delicate draped linens topped with architectural urn florals, bud vases and candlelight. From the first moment, Fox Flora were sensitive to the concept and vision we had for a whimsical, refined and relaxed elopement day… translating our essence was a dream, which Kelly masterfully accomplished”.
The vows were exchanged like poetry! We deliberately assume the romanticism of our soul. We weren't in a hurry to do it, we had time for ourselves, we weren't ashamed of words, emotions, after all it was our turn to make a speech to each other, intimate especially makes the moments more flexible.” The entire ceremony and our musical moments of the day were surrounded by live music from @entertainmentnationuk . We dance as if we were at home. It was lovely and that's why we celebrated love in a intimacy personalised ceremony starting with warmly welcome in Portuguese “bem vindo M and M" , by @paula_celebratingyou . The primary focus for the florals were for the wedding dinner. An exquisite and decadent dinner table for two, lined with bouncy florals and soft candle light.
Table styling from @the.blissful.bride included marble charger plates and gold cutlery, soften with nude table linens and behind the couple, as rambling floral mantlepiece, frame photos for dinner.
A stunning contemporary single tier tall cake by @junipercakery was topped with simple delicate sweet peas for a contemporary, artful display alongside a delicious sweet table.
Saltmarshe Hall is as cosy as it is grand; a versatile boutique venue for weddings of any size but just a little bit special if you are planning an intimate ceremony.
Our intimate day was documented in a fine art photography by the sensitivity of the lovely and tireless Mati, @matiphotograpgy, is an especialises in capturing emotive moments. After that he became our friend, after a beautiful journey together.
Stunning wedding film by Adam, @adamchetterfilms, we watched and had the feeling as if we were in another era of history, that was our epic intimate wedding day.
Our words are of gratitude and a lot of love for all dream team because our wedding day was incredibly the flowers with a lot of authenticity. I will never forget the moment I received my bouquet and walked into our dining room; I still get emotional today. All our details were there, in perfect harmony. They were incredible, We can’t say enough.
